  1. Raw Material Sourcing & Purification We collect sugarcane bagasse, the fibrous residue left after sugar extraction in sugar mills. Raw bagasse is first screened and washed multiple times to remove residual sugar, silt, cane pith and foreign debris. After washing, the fiber is dehydrated and stored. This step eliminates sugar residue which would cause mold and bad odor, and guarantees stable fiber quality for food contact use. We do not use recycled waste paper fiber for our standard clamshell containers.

  2. Pulping & Fiber Refining Clean bagasse is delivered to the hydrapulper and mixed with purified water for fiber dissociation. The pulp goes through multi-stage screening and cyclone deslagging to remove tiny mineral impurities. Then the pulp enters the refiner to adjust fiber length and fibrillation degree. Food-grade, PFAS-free water-based grease resistant agent is added proportionally and fully mixed into the pulp slurry. The pulp concentration is precisely controlled between 0.3% ~ 0.5% before pumping to the forming station. If white color is required, chlorine-free TCF bleaching is applied.

  3. Vacuum Forming The well-mixed pulp slurry flows into the forming tank. The custom aluminum mesh mold for hinged clamshell is immersed into the pulp. Negative pressure vacuum suction draws fibers evenly onto the mold surface. Extra water is drained through the mesh, forming a wet blank with the complete clamshell shape including integrated hinge and lock tab. Our mold design ensures even fiber distribution on box body, hinge and cover, to avoid weak points on the folding hinge.

  4. Hot Press Thermoforming The wet blank is transferred automatically to matched heated male & female molds. Hot pressing runs at 160℃–210℃ under controlled pressure. Remaining moisture is squeezed out and evaporated rapidly. Fiber bonds are reinforced under heat and pressure. This stage fixes the final dimension, improves surface smoothness, boosts rigidity and oil resistance, and realizes preliminary high-temperature sterilization. The parameter setting is specially tuned for clamshell hinge structure to prevent cracking after repeated opening.

  5. Edge Trimming & Surface Finishing After hot pressing, semi-finished products are sent to the trimming station. Automatic cutting tools remove flash and uneven rim leftover from molding. For custom printed orders, water-based food-safe flexo printing is arranged here. Printing ink is EU food contact compliant, no heavy metal and no harmful volatile substances.

  6. Multi-dimensional Quality Inspection Each batch passes layered inspection: online visual sorting for deformation, crack, bubble and stain; sampling test for single weight, dimension, hinge folding performance; lab test for oil resistance, water resistance, microwave tolerance and migration index. Random samples are sent to third-party lab regularly for PFAS, EN13432 and food contact certification testing. Non-conforming items will be picked out and recycled back into the pulping system.

  7. Static Curing & Moisture Balancing Qualified products go into the curing workshop for natural moisture balance under constant temperature and humidity. This step stabilizes internal fiber stress, reduces later deformation risk during storage and transport, and keeps consistent stacking performance.

  8. Sterilization, Counting & Packing Products pass through ultraviolet sterilization channel. Operators in dust-free workshop count and pack the goods into inner PE bags and export cartons. Carton marks, shipping marks and pallet packing are processed according to customer requirements. The whole packing zone keeps clean and low-dust environment to avoid secondary contamination.
